When you’re planning a trip to central Vietnam, choosing the right location for your accommodation plays a crucial role in how much you’ll enjoy your entire holiday. Da Nang is quite unique in that the airport sits right in the city center, so you’ll find yourself in the heart of the action immediately after landing. The city is divided by the wide Hàn River, and the nearest beach is a good five kilometers from downtown, which means you’ll need to decide right from the start what kind of atmosphere you’re actually expecting from your stay.
The biggest question you need to ask yourself is whether you prefer waking up near the ocean, the bustle of a big city by the river, or peace and quiet in an isolated beach resort. There’s no rail transport in the city, so you’ll handle everything through the Grab app, which works reliably here and costs just a few euros. From the airport you can reach the beach by car in about fifteen minutes, and the ride will only cost you a few euros, which is convenient.
I’ve prepared a detailed guide to the local districts and carefully selected hotels so you know exactly what you’re getting into. You’ll find out where the best cafés are hiding, which areas to avoid because of construction noise, and how taxes and visas currently work. Da Nang is constantly changing, with new buildings going up and interesting establishments appearing, so it’s good to have the freshest information possible.

TL;DR
If you don’t feel like reading through all the details and need a quick recommendation, here’s a brief overview of the most interesting options for different types of travelers. All the hotels mentioned are covered in more detail below.
- Best value for money near the beach: Sala Danang Beach Hotel offers a quiet location and a gorgeous rooftop pool.
- Perfect for digital nomads and backpackers: Rom Casa Da Nang is a shipping container party hostel with a very social atmosphere in the An Thượng district.

Which Area to Choose
Your decision about which district to lay your head in will define the entire character of your holiday. Each area has a completely different atmosphere and suits different types of travelers.
Mỹ Khê and Phạm Văn Đồng are the ideal choice for your very first visit to the city, especially if you’re traveling as a couple and want the beach across the street. You’ll find the most famous hotels with rooftop pools here, offering beautiful ocean views. The center of this area is Phạm Văn Đồng Street, from where you can reach the river by Grab in ten minutes and the airport in about twenty minutes. The downside might be more noise from the busy Võ Nguyên Giáp road, and also the fact that some smaller hotels only pretend to be luxurious.
The An Thượng district mainly attracts younger travelers, backpackers, and digital nomads looking for lively nightlife and modern cafés. It’s a paradise for vegetarians because you’ll find excellent plant-based restaurants like Roots Plant-Based Cafe or Loving Vegan. The beach is a five-minute walk away and you can reach the river in twelve minutes. Keep in mind, though, that this area is sometimes nicknamed a construction site because building often goes on from morning till evening, and noise from bars can continue until midnight.
The western riverbank called Hải Châu represents the true heart of the city, where you should head if you’re interested in monuments, markets, and excellent food. You’ll find the famous cathedral, Hàn Market, and plenty of great cafés and restaurants, including the renowned Pizza 4P’s pizzeria. Accommodation here is strategic mainly during the rainy months when swimming in the ocean isn’t an option and you’ll appreciate being close to shops and museums. You’re just a short distance from Dragon Bridge and the airport, but you’ll need to drive about ten minutes to the ocean, and on weekends there can be noise from nightclubs.
The eastern bank An Hải by Dragon Bridge is fantastic for families with children who want a perfect view of the weekend fire shows. From this side of the river you’re also closer to the beach than from downtown, and right around the corner is the large Vincom shopping center. The downside is occasional overpricing at the nearby Sơn Trà night market and also the fact that noise from the weekend fire-breathing dragon may disturb more sensitive sleepers.
The resort strip Non Nước and Bắc Mỹ An lies further south and is ideal for those who crave a classic relaxing holiday with a cocktail in hand. The largest luxury complexes stand here with huge pools, kids’ clubs, and golf courses. You’ll enjoy a wide and very peaceful beach, but you need to accept that you won’t walk to any local restaurants. From this so-called dead southern end you’ll take Grab to downtown fifteen to twenty-five minutes, and to the airport even up to half an hour.
When to Go and When to Book
Before you start selecting a specific hotel, it’s good to know a few practical details about prices and local fees. Da Nang doesn’t have any city or tourist tax, but on the other hand you need to expect that prices on booking portals often don’t show the final amount.
Until the end of December 2026, Vietnam has a reduced VAT rate on accommodation of 8 percent, which will likely return to the original 10 percent from January 2027. When you search for accommodation, booking systems will very often show you a price with a note that the 8 percent tax is not included, even though the 5 percent service charge is usually already in the price. Always mentally add about 8 to 13 percent to the displayed amount so you won’t be surprised at reception.
Another important thing is foreigner registration upon arrival, which the hotel must complete for you online by law. Reception staff will photograph your passport during check-in and return it to you immediately. Never, truly never leave your passport at reception as a deposit—authorities strongly warn against this practice. Regarding payment, in larger hotels from three stars up you can pay by card without problems, but in smaller guesthouses you’ll often need cash or a local QR code.
As for timing your trip, the most expensive period occurs during Vietnamese New Year celebrations called Tết, which in 2027 falls on February 6, with prices soaring several days in advance. Another peak is the turn of April and May or the summer months when the DIFF fireworks festival takes place in the city and hotels by the river are bursting at the seams. On the other hand, you’ll get the cheapest accommodation in October and November, when you must expect heavy rains and occasional typhoons that can cause flooding even in nearby Hội An.
International travelers can fly to Vietnam from mid-August 2025 visa-free for up to 45 days, which makes travel enormously easier. Since June 2026, the Pre-Arrival Information system has been in operation, so you can fill out an online QR code up to 72 hours before departure and save yourself long waits at immigration. From the airport, you can best get around by car through the Grab app, which has a special designated area right under the overpass where convenient ordering via PIN code has been working since summer 2026.
18 Best Hotels in Da Nang and Surroundings

1. Sala Danang Beach Hotel
You’ll find the Sala Danang Beach Hotel on the quiet Lâm Hoành street in the An Hải district, which gives it a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere far from the noise of the main promenade. I think it’s a great spot for anyone looking for beach relaxation, as you can reach the famous Mỹ Khê beach with an easy five-minute stroll. People rave most about the rooftop infinity pool with a bar and stunning ocean views, where it feels surprisingly luxurious. The friendly staff works brilliantly here and will happily help you plan excursions. A huge plus is the daily refreshed breakfast selection, and you’ll definitely appreciate the complimentary minibar in your room.
Keep in mind, though, that not everything here is huge. Superior King rooms tend to be a bit smaller than you might expect, and the bathroom is downright narrow. Another minor drawback awaits if you visit during the winter months, as the water in the rooftop pool can sometimes be quite chilly. On the other hand, a night here costs around €42 including breakfast if you book for November 2026, which is an absolute steal. Plus, you don’t need to worry about getting there because the hotel usually arranges a complimentary airport transfer.
💡 Tip: If it’s fully booked, the DLG Hotel stands nearby. Guests love it for its beautiful sea views, and there’s a free shuttle bus stop right next to it that goes to the Bà Nà Hills.

2. Parosand Danang Hotel
You’ll find the Parosand Danang Hotel on the busy Võ Nguyên Giáp avenue right opposite the beach, and it strikes me as a very solid upper mid-range option. You might know it from before under the name Belle Maison Parosand. People often feel they’re getting much more than they expected here. The biggest draw is the very spacious rooms and especially the enormous three-bedroom apartments with a kitchen on the eighteenth floor, from which you can enjoy beautiful views. For larger families, this is absolutely brilliant. Everyone praises the incredibly helpful staff and fabulous varied breakfasts. If your flight leaves very early in the morning, they’ll gladly prepare a takeaway package for you.
On the roof, there’s a fantastic pool with stunning views of the entire coastline. Guest experiences suggest, however, that the atmosphere suits families with children better than couples seeking quiet romance. Also keep in mind that the pool water could be a touch warmer, and the food at the hotel restaurant during the day tends to be rather average, so for lunch you’re better off heading to one of the surrounding streets. At any rate, the sea is just a few steps across the road, which more than makes up for any minor drawbacks.
💡 Tip: If it’s fully booked, the nearby DLG Hotel is worth checking out. It has similarly spacious rooms, great ocean views, and there’s also a shuttle bus from here that makes getting around the city a bit easier.

3. HAIAN Beach Hotel & Spa
Right opposite the renowned Mỹ Khê beach you’ll find HAIAN Beach Hotel & Spa, a charming mid-range property where you’ll pay from €48 per night with breakfast and afternoon tea. People here sing the highest praises for the lovely staff, led by a receptionist affectionately nicknamed Madame Alina. She apparently takes care of guests like her own family. You’ll often receive small thoughtful gestures here, whether gifts for children or sweet birthday surprises. After a tiring flight, you’ll definitely appreciate being picked up from the airport in the hotel limousine for a very reasonable price. Then all you need to do is settle into the beautiful rooftop pool and watch the waves.
To be completely honest, though, I have to warn you about a few drawbacks you might read about. Breakfast sometimes gets criticism here—it tends to be on the cold side and bland in flavor, plus the dining area gets pretty crowded during the morning rush. Some rooms also suffer from noise from the busy Võ Nguyên Giáp street below. Still, I think that thanks to the excellent location by the ocean and the incredibly warm approach of the locals, you’ll feel very comfortable here.
💡 Tip: If it’s fully booked, the modern Four Points by Sheraton Danang stands a bit further along. From its rooms with balconies facing directly onto the ocean, you’ll enjoy some of the absolute prettiest sea views in the entire area.

4. Chicland Danang Beach Hotel
The Chicland Danang Beach Hotel on Võ Nguyên Giáp street will catch your eye immediately, because this property by the famous architect Võ Trọng Nghĩa has balconies literally covered in greenery and stands out like an apparition among the typical surrounding buildings. People here love most the proximity to the ocean—just cross the street and in a minute you’re standing barefoot in the sand. What works brilliantly here is the luxurious rooftop pool with friendly service and also the excellent breakfasts, where you can eat your fill regardless of your dietary restrictions. From your room you also get beautiful direct views of the beach.
Keep in mind, though, that even this green marvel has its drawbacks. I think it’s important to mention that complaints occasionally surface about the behavior of reception staff, who can apparently be unfriendly and try to charge excessive amounts for laundry. It’s also good to know that the mentioned rooftop pool is quite tiny. It fits about only eight sun loungers, so snagging a free spot in the sun during high season can be tricky. For getting to the markets, I recommend sorting out a mototaxi, which will get you there in about seven minutes.
💡 Tip: If you prefer more classic accommodation without design flourishes, the Radisson Hotel Danang lies nearby. It guarantees high international standards, and from its balconies you can see all the way to the Lady Buddha statue at sunset.

5. Golden Lotus Grand
You’ll find the Golden Lotus Grand in the heart of the An Thượng district, and it will please you if you’re looking for a lively area full of vegetarian restaurants, bars, and small cafes. People in reviews often praise the warm staff, who sometimes surprise you with a complimentary upgrade to a corner room with a balcony. It also earns positive points for its huge breakfast buffet, beautifully fragrant entrance hall, and powerful air conditioning. You can get a night with breakfast here from around €42, which is fantastic value considering you can walk to the beach in five minutes. A taxi will drop you at Dragon Bridge in the same time, and the airport takes about fifteen minutes.
Keep in mind, though, that the surrounding streets currently resemble a huge construction site. Unfortunately, noise can disturb you from eight in the morning until evening, even on weekends. From honest guest impressions it’s also clear that the hotel sometimes just pretends to be luxurious. Elevators tend to be quite slow, there aren’t enough sun loungers by the pool, and breakfasts sometimes drown unnecessarily in grease. A minor but annoying niggle is the musical backdrop in the restaurant, where apparently the same song plays on repeat constantly.
💡 Tip: If you’re searching for something a bit different in this district, check out Cicilia Hotels & Spa nearby. People really appreciate the relaxing wellness facilities, outstanding breakfasts, and you can get a cozy room there for a very favorable price.

6. Rom Casa Da Nang
Rom Casa Da Nang is a little paradise for backpackers and solo travelers, built from former shipping containers in the An Thượng district. I think it’s an incredibly social place where you’ll quickly make friends by the outdoor pool with bar, or during the regular quizzes, pool games, and beer pong tournaments. People in reviews mention a lot how friendly and smiley the staff is here, even during hectic holidays. You’ve got a comfortable five-minute walk to the beach from here, and in the surrounding streets you’ll also find plenty of restaurants.
Keep in mind, though, that this is a renowned party hostel, so music plays regularly until midnight and it’s not really set up for quiet family evenings. If you want to get some sleep at night, definitely request a room in the second building across the street, which is apparently considerably quieter. Honestly, the biggest drawback here is the shared showers in the dorms, where the old locks sometimes act up and unpleasant mold forms in places. Also be prepared for drinks at the bar to be a touch pricier and happy hour only lasts two hours a day.
💡 Tip: If you’re drawn to the relaxed atmosphere but value more peace and cleanliness, The Memory Danang Boutique stands nearby. It used to be a hostel, but today functions as a stylish boutique hotel where guests can’t stop raving about the fantastic breakfasts and unlimited supply of fresh fruit.

7. Novotel Danang Premier Han River
Novotel Danang Premier Han River is an unmissable thirty-seven-story skyscraper right on the Han River waterfront, where you’ll pay around €53 per night before tax. It strikes me as a great spot for those of you looking for a more upscale urban atmosphere. Not only will you have spectacular views of the river, city, and distant ocean, but what really works brilliantly here is the impeccable cleanliness and incredibly friendly staff at the Premier Lounge. They do excellent breakfasts and you’ll also appreciate the modern gym. A huge bonus is the free shuttle bus that takes you directly to Bà Nà Hills, saving you money on transportation.
Keep in mind, though, that staying in the center has its drawbacks. The beach is about three kilometers away and the Dragon Bridge is quite a distance from here, so you won’t have that perfect close-up view. Guests also point out that the waterfront can be pretty noisy on weekends, partly due to the famous Sky36 nightclub located right on the hotel’s rooftop. If you don’t mind a bit of evening buzz and want to be pampered with excellent service, you’ll definitely be very happy here.
💡 Tip: If you’re looking for riverside accommodation with slightly quieter luxury, Hilton Da Nang is just a bit further along. It impresses with huge modern rooms, a rooftop bar, and from here you can walk to the Dragon Bridge in about ten minutes.

8. Hilton Da Nang
If you’re looking for pure luxury in the heart of the city, Hilton Da Nang on Bạch Đằng Street probably won’t disappoint. What people rave about most here are the huge windows in the spacious modern rooms, which offer fantastic views of the Han River. In summer you can even watch the fireworks during the DIFF festival right from your bed. You can walk comfortably to the Dragon Bridge in ten minutes and the beach is just a short drive away. Guests are absolutely thrilled with the fantastic and abundant breakfasts as well as the smiling staff. You’ll also appreciate the outdoor pool, rooftop bar, and well-equipped gym. In November you can get a night from around €70.
Keep in mind, though, that staying on the waterfront has its downsides, so on weekends noise from surrounding nightlife venues occasionally drifts over. Visitor experiences also show that the local Executive Lounge struggles a bit with staff shortages, so food is replenished more slowly and the selection is more limited than at other Asian hotels in this chain. Some have also encountered longer waits for room service. Still, it seems to me like a superb base for lovers of urban style who don’t mind not having the sea right under their windows.
💡 Tip: If you’d like to try something new, Courtyard by Marriott Danang Han River recently opened just next door. It brings a completely fresh new design to the waterfront, has a beautiful rooftop pool, and guests rave about the excellent breakfasts.

9. Meliá Vinpearl Danang Riverfront
The huge Meliá Vinpearl Danang Riverfront complex stands right on the eastern bank of the river by the Dragon Bridge and a night here costs from around €56. People are apparently completely blown away by the beautiful panoramic views of both the river and the whole city, which you can enjoy not just from room windows but also from the large outdoor pool, which by the way has an indoor version too. What works brilliantly here is the incredibly friendly staff who will gladly take care of you and sometimes surprise you with little parting gifts when you leave. Another big plus is the location, because you can walk to the Vincom shopping center in just a few minutes. In the morning you’ll definitely enjoy the abundant breakfast, which guests also praise because it’s served by the water.
Keep in mind, though, that large tour groups often converge on this giant hotel tower, so the environment can sometimes feel a bit impersonal and breakfast times can get particularly busy. Another thing to consider is the noise from the weekend fire shows on the Dragon Bridge, which carries very easily across the water surface directly to the hotel. And if you’re coming to Vietnam primarily for sea swimming, don’t forget that it’s still about two and a half kilometers to the beach, so you probably won’t manage without a taxi.
💡 Tip: If it’s full or you have a tighter budget and would prefer a room with your own balcony, check out Fivitel Da Nang on the opposite bank. It has a great price-performance ratio and a beautiful view from the rooftop pool.

10. Cozy Danang Boutique Hotel
Cozy Danang Boutique Hotel is an incredibly pleasant accommodation gem near the famous Han Market that breathes a warm and cozy atmosphere. What people love most here are the huge comfortable beds and surprisingly spacious rooms with large bathtubs, which offer you a beautiful view directly of the Dragon Bridge if you choose the right room. The staff work brilliantly and the abundant breakfast buffet will give you a great start to your day. You can get a night with breakfast from around €38, which seems like an absolute bargain to me, especially since the free airport transfer is included in the price. You can also comfortably walk to loads of famous cafés and restaurants in the center.
Keep in mind, though, that it’s a good two and a half kilometers to the ocean, which in the Vietnamese heat turns into an endless expedition. So it’s better to take a taxi to the beach. The hotel does have its own small pool, which according to guests is mainly enjoyed by children after a demanding day in the city, but it’s simply not the sea. Due to the smaller capacity it also tends to be fully booked quite often, so I’d recommend not delaying too much with your reservation.
💡 Tip: If it’s full or you like very modern concepts, Wink Danang Centre is worth your attention just a short distance away. They have a great twenty-four-hour stay policy, so you can check in and check out absolutely anytime during the day.

11. Wyndham Danang Golden Bay
Wyndham Danang Golden Bay is a huge five-star hotel at the more remote northern end near Thuận Phước Bridge that will probably immediately wow you with its golden infinity pool on the 29th floor. This rooftop pool with unforgettable city views is actually the main reason people come here at all. On the ground floor you can explore an interesting park with miniatures of world landmarks and the surroundings are generally very quiet. Guests also praise the staff’s excellent English and the enormous selection at the breakfast counters, which are literally bursting at the seams.
Keep in mind, though, that this is a typical package tour hotel. Check-in and breakfast are often chaotic due to buses full of tourists, the elevators are desperately slow, and some lobby areas could already use renovation. The location is also really quite out of the way, so you simply won’t get anywhere without a taxi. In reviews people honestly admit that food quality during the day sometimes lags to the point where they prefer to order delivery from the city. So it seems to me like decent accommodation for just one night for those amazing pool photos.
💡 Tip: If you want to stay in the north but are looking for much more modern and quieter accommodation right by Mân Thái beach, check out the brand new Radisson RED Danang, where people love the nice wellness facilities and cleanliness.

12. Furama Resort Danang
Furama Resort Danang is something of a local legend from 1997 and one of the very first large resorts to spring up on Bắc Mỹ An beach. You can get a night from around €112 and you’ll get an expansive complex full of mature greenery and interconnected lagoons. It seems to me that the tropical garden is the resort’s biggest trump card. People praise an interesting thing, namely that the lagoon-view rooms are actually much quieter and nicer than the ocean-view ones, so it’s probably not worth paying extra at all. The beach in front of the hotel is beautifully wide and clean. Kids can let loose in the children’s club and adults swear by the amazing spa, yoga classes, or the evening casino.
Keep in mind, though, that even though the friendly staff really try their best, the age is starting to show a bit on some buildings and it may not always meet completely modern five-star standards. Guests also occasionally point out the monotony of the breakfast buffet, which could probably use some variation after a few days. But if you’re looking for classic resort relaxation with a touch of nostalgia and perfect service, you’ll definitely be charmed here.
💡 Tip: If you want something a bit more modern, Pullman Danang Beach Resort stands right next door, where people enjoy great food, free water sports, and even an all-inclusive dining option.

13. Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa
You’ll find Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa on the quiet Non Nước beach just a short distance from the Marble Mountains, and it strikes me as the perfect haven for families with children. A night costs from around €124. People rave most about the beach complex with no fewer than five pools, a well-equipped kids’ club, and a climbing wall. During the day you can relax in hammocks on the wide sandy beach or borrow a kayak for free. The staff works like clockwork, picking up the reception phone within two rings practically every time. You have peace from the city buzz here, but when you feel like heading to the riverside city center, a Grab will get you there in about twenty minutes.
Keep in mind, though, that when the resort is fully booked things can get hectic. In high season guests complain about long breakfast waits, where you might easily stand twenty minutes for coffee or eggs, and the taste of the food can apparently be disappointing at times. There are also reports that the central air conditioning in some rooms can’t cool the space properly and the sun loungers are quite far from the actual sea. You won’t be able to walk to any nearby restaurants from here either, so you’ll mainly eat at the hotel.
💡 Tip: If it’s full, a short distance away you’ll find the similarly family-oriented Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa, which will win you over with its 250-meter-long pool and fantastic kids’ water park.

14. Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang
The modern wellness paradise Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang only opened in 2023 and strikes me as perfect for those of you who want to bring home absolute relaxation from your holiday. The biggest trump card here is the unique spa-included concept, which in practice means one excellent treatment daily. People highly praise the complete privacy in the spacious villas, which offer breathtaking views directly over the sea. The generous breakfasts with a huge selection apparently work brilliantly too. You’ll pay from around €179 per night, which already includes both breakfast and the wellness package I just mentioned.
Keep in mind, though, that even such luxury has its minor drawbacks. The enormous lobby strikes some guests as more like a modern clinic than a warm beach hotel. The room design is very minimalist and austere, with the bed often sitting rather unconventionally right in the middle of the space. Definitely be prepared that you won’t find anything at all in the immediate vicinity of the resort and you’ll need to take a taxi everywhere to reach the city and attractions.
💡 Tip: If you’re interested in dedicated health and wellness stays with excellent vegetarian food, try the legendary TIA Wellness Resort. Beautiful villas with private pools await you here and they’ll happily serve you breakfast at any time of day.

15. Naman Retreat
Naman Retreat is a beautiful design resort by the quiet Non Nước beach, where you can stay in private villas with pools from around €142 per night. People come here mainly for the fantastic service. Right upon arrival you get a personal assistant who takes care of you attentively throughout your entire stay. The stunning infinity pool that visually merges with the ocean gets the most praise, and to my surprise so do the reasonable food prices in the hotel restaurants. That’s not usually the case at similarly luxurious resorts, so you probably won’t break the bank on meals here.
Keep in mind, though, that this place has its best years slowly behind it and some villas could use a light renovation. According to reviews they’re perfectly clean, but while the common areas take your breath away, the rooms themselves make a somewhat more ordinary impression. Delays can happen right at arrival because the reception is quite small for such a huge complex. Trust me though, once you settle in and are surrounded by the amazing care from the local staff, you’ll quickly forget these minor drawbacks.
💡 Tip: If you’re looking for accommodation where guest care is perfected to an art, check out the neighboring TIA Wellness Resort as well. It focuses on regeneration and people praise the beautiful villas and daily massages included in the price.

16. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is probably the most expensive and most luxurious address in all of Da Nang with prices from €492 per night. For that sum, though, you find yourself in a fairy-tale complex hidden in a private bay on the Sơn Trà peninsula. The complex was designed by the famous architect Bill Bensley, underwent a major renovation in 2022, and people incredibly praise how sensitively it blends into the surrounding nature. The views here are absolutely stunning, but what guests say works truly brilliantly is the incredibly attentive staff. A real unique feature is the local cable car called Nam Tram, which comfortably transports you between the different levels of the resort.
Keep in mind, though, that perfect isolation with two outdoor pools and a beautiful private beach also has its flip side. You can’t do anything beyond the gates, you can’t walk anywhere, and it’s a good twenty to thirty minutes’ drive to the popular Mỹ Khê beach. In the summer peak season annoying queues sometimes form for the cable car I mentioned, and naturally the high price raises expectations sky-high. Your reward, however, will be top-notch gastronomy and perhaps even encounters with rare langur monkeys that roam freely here.
💡 Tip: If you want to experience a similarly high standard of service but would rather stay closer to civilization and the city center, check out the gorgeous Pullman Danang Beach Resort with its own beach and outdoor pool.

17. Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa
The enormous complex Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa lies about ten kilometers north of the center and for families with small children it’s absolute paradise. Trust me, you won’t lack water fun here because the complex houses a year-round indoor aquapark and traditional Japanese thermal baths called onsen. People hugely praise not only the incredible cleanliness and spacious rooms, but especially the amazing teppanyaki show where the chef conjures up a fantastic spectacle. You’ll pay from around €119 per night with breakfast, and you can relax beautifully on the local northern beach because you won’t be battling crowds of tourists.
Keep in mind, though, that this isolation has its disadvantages too. You’ll take a Grab more than twenty minutes to reach the main Mỹ Khê beach or the neighborhoods full of cozy cafés, so it makes sense to come here for a few days purely for pool fun. Guests occasionally mention slight disappointment with the food at the local Koi restaurant. It’s definitely worth mentioning that the entire complex and the celebrated Japanese hospitality are very much tailored to the predominantly Asian clientele who visit most often.
💡 Tip: If you want to combine kids’ water fun with a location somewhat closer to the city, check out Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa. It has an amazing water park and guests love the exceptionally comfortable beds.

18. Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills
Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills transports you to another world, as it sits at 1,400 meters above sea level right inside the amusement park. A night in a basic room without a view costs around €132. The real magic, though, comes in the late afternoon when the crowds of day-trippers leave and you can stroll undisturbed through the quiet streets of the French village, or enjoy the famous Golden Bridge in the morning with absolutely no people. People hugely praise the generous breakfasts here and also the staff, who remain incredibly friendly even during the enormous daily rush.
Living right in the park has its drawbacks, though. In the evening you’ll face quite limited dining options because most stands close and basically only the Maison Du Roi restaurant stays open. Reviews also occasionally mention complaints about hallway noise and an unpleasant smell in the bathrooms. Definitely remember that the park ticket is paid separately and check-in itself can get quite drawn out due to the crowds. And honestly, if rain or fog catches you up there, sadly nothing will remain of those dreamy mountain views.
💡 Tip: If you’re worried that bad weather up on the mountain will ruin the views, stay down in the city instead. The Novotel Danang Premier Han River solves this beautifully, and until the end of 2026 there’s even a free bus from there to the cable car.
How to Choose the Right Hotel
When choosing accommodation in Da Nang, plenty of small nuances come into play. Definitely don’t let yourself be lured in just by beautiful photos on booking portals, but carefully consider your daily rhythm. If you love swimming in the sea, sipping cocktails in the evening, and don’t mind the occasional street noise, head straight to the Mỹ Khê or An Thượng districts. On the other hand, families with small children who need a large pool, kids’ club, and peace from motorbikes should choose the Non Nước resort area, even if it means taking a taxi into the city. And if you’re traveling to Vietnam in October or November, when the sea can be rough, it’s better to stay in the city center near the Hàn River, where you’ll find plenty to do even in the rain.
From our research into current conditions, we also have a few important warnings for you. Be careful with hotels in the An Thượng area, which is currently going through a massive construction boom, so you might be disturbed by noise from building sites from eight in the morning. The popular Barney’s Backpackers hostel is unfortunately now permanently closed, and the Nobu project currently only operates as a residence. Similarly, the Mandarin Oriental Da Nang is still preparing to open, and Meliá Danang Beach Resort was undergoing extensive renovation while remaining operational. If you’re looking for cheaper accommodation, avoid hotels like Mường Thanh, where you risk getting a tiny room with no windows at all.
Many travelers wonder whether it’s better to stay in historic Hội An, which is about thirty kilometers away. Our advice is to split your stay into two parts: spend four to five nights in Da Nang by the beach and then move to Hội An for one or two nights so you can fully enjoy its charming lantern atmosphere. If you decide to take this step, the most beautiful places to stay include the romantic La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa, the luxurious Anantara Hoi An Resort right on the waterfront, or the stylish Hoi An Memories Hotel by Fusion. Just remember that in the autumn months, the streets of Hội An are often flooded.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where to stay in Da Nang for the first time?
For your first visit, the Mỹ Khê area around Phạm Văn Đồng Street is hands down the best choice. You’ve got the beach right across the street, a huge selection of hotels (like Parosand, HAIAN or Sala), and you can reach the river in just ten minutes by Grab. If you prefer the hustle and bustle of the city and sights, though, go for the Hải Châu district near the Bạch Đằng waterfront instead.
Beach or river?
It depends on when you’re travelling and what you expect from your holiday. The beach districts of Mỹ Khê and An Thượng are brilliant from May to August, when the weather is ideal for swimming and the bars come alive in the evening. Staying by the Hàn River (Dragon Bridge, markets, museums) is far more strategic during the rainy months, and the airport is only three kilometres away from there.
How much does a hotel in Da Nang cost?
At the end of 2026, prices for a decent hostel or boutique hotel range from around €27 to €42 per night. Classic four-star beach hotels go for between €48 and €60, while five-star luxury in the city will set you back €53 to €70. Large beach resorts charge roughly €112 to €180, and top-tier places like the InterContinental run around €500 per night. You need to add 8% VAT to the price. In March 2027, expect prices to be roughly 10 to 30% higher.
What taxes and fees are charged here?
Until 31 December 2026, accommodation is subject to a reduced VAT rate of 8% (from 2027 onwards it will likely return to 10%). Booking and other portals often show prices without this tax. On top of that, there’s a 5% service charge, but this is usually already included in the price. There’s no city or tourist tax collected here. When you check in, the hotel will photograph your passport for the police, but they will never keep it as a deposit.
Resort or city?
Big resorts on Non Nước beach offer perfect service, wide beaches and kids’ clubs, but they’re located in the so-called dead southern end, from where you have to get everywhere by Grab – about twenty minutes. City hotels, on the other hand, let you walk to excellent food and sights, while the beach is only ten minutes away by car.
Hội An or Da Nang as a base?
The best solution is to split your stay. Spend four to five nights in Da Nang, from where you can make trips to the beach, Bà Nà Hills or the Marble Mountains, then move on for one or two nights right in Hội An to fully soak up its evening atmosphere. The cities are about thirty kilometres apart and a Grab ride will cost you a few hundred. In October and November, though, watch out for occasional flooding.
How does card payment, deposits and registration work?
In all larger hotels from three stars upwards you can pay without a problem with Visa or Mastercard, but in smaller guesthouses you’ll need cash or a local payment app. Booking portals often allow payment on arrival. Hotels are required by law to register you with the police, and all they need is to photograph your passport. Before flying to Vietnam, don’t forget to fill in the online Pre-Arrival QR form, and watch out for scam WhatsApp messages asking you to confirm your reservation.
