I’m now proudly writing this text using all ten fingers, but just a month ago I was pecking away with only two fingers on each hand. I have to admit that my lack of touch typing skills was something I was embarrassed about for a long time and never voluntarily owned up to.
I even hid the fact that I couldn’t touch type from Lukáš, who was once a classroom champion with nearly 500 keystrokes per minute. Now I can’t understand why I didn’t do something about it sooner — I practically learned touch typing in just four days. Let’s take a look at how to learn touch typing using the gamified app TType.

Why Is Touch Typing Worth Learning?
It definitely saves time — whether you’re writing emails, messages, or even articles. In short, it’s useful for anyone who spends a lot of time at a computer. Think you can already type fast without proper touch typing? Try a typing test — I used to think so too (or rather, I was kidding myself).
How Touch Typing Lessons Work with This Gamified App
The entire learning process is built around a game. You start on the launch pad and first embark on an expedition to the Playful Grove, then move on to the Highland Plateau, continue through Typing Valley, Numericus Forest, all the way to the Land of the Finger Lord and the Diacritics Swamp.
If you complete all these levels, you’ll know all the common keys and earn a certificate. But it doesn’t end there. There’s also a Sea of Opportunities level where you can practice special characters, diacritics, and then train your accuracy.

Touch Typing Games: Learning Through Play – How Does It Work?
Most letter expeditions have 9 rounds, and you always learn 2–4 keys at a time. At the beginning of each round, you’re shown instructions for typing each letter — for both Windows and Mac — and then you move through the individual rounds, which are designed as touch typing games.
The rounds alternate between shooting letters, copying text, and typing words quickly before they fly off the screen. Each round can be completed with up to 3 stars (3 points), and you gradually collect points and climb the leaderboard. At the end, you always type practice texts to reinforce your touch typing skills.

Customisable Practice Round
If a particular key is giving you trouble, you can use the customisable round to practise exactly the keys you want to focus on.
Statistics
Thanks to clear statistics, you can see your progress straight away. The app’s stats give you a neat overview of how many keyboards you’ve mastered, the number of games won, how many consecutive days you’ve trained, and your average number of keystrokes per minute.

How Long Does It Take to Learn Touch Typing?
It took me 4 days. I simply couldn’t tear myself away from the app. On the first day, I spent two hours on it; on the second day, a full three hours. I carried on like that for another two days until I received my certificate of completion.
Don’t get me wrong — I’m no genius. I still spent a few minutes each day practising afterwards, and it took about two weeks before my fingers stopped feeling completely drunk while typing. I’m still a long way from 500 keystrokes per minute, though.
If you can’t touch type yet, I’d recommend not putting it off. Most people learn to touch type within a month. On average, graduates spend about 10 hours of actual study time on the course.

Tips and Tricks for Your Vacation
Don’t Overpay for Flights
Search for flights on Kayak. It’s our favorite search engine because it scans the websites of all airlines and always finds the cheapest connection.
Book Your Accommodation Smartly
The best experiences we’ve had when looking for accommodation (from Alaska to Morocco) are with Booking.com, where hotels, apartments, and entire houses are usually the cheapest and most widely available.
Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
Good travel insurance will protect you against illness, accidents, theft, or flight cancellations. We’ve had a few hospital visits abroad, so we know how important it is to have proper insurance arranged.
Where we insure ourselves: SafetyWing (best for everyone) and TrueTraveller (for extra-long trips).
Why don’t we recommend any Czech insurance company? Because they have too many restrictions. They set limits on the number of days abroad, travel insurance via a credit card often requires you to pay medical expenses only with that card, and they frequently limit the number of returns to the Czech Republic.
Find the Best Experiences
Get Your Guide is a huge online marketplace where you can book guided walks, trips, skip-the-line tickets, tours, and much more. We always find some extra fun there!
