When it comes to Agadir, Morocco weather, the city boasts more than three hundred sunny days a year, so genuinely bad weather is a rare visitor here. The ocean acts as reliable air conditioning, which is why you’ll never experience the sweltering heat of nearby Marrakech.
If you’re planning a classic summer holiday with ocean swims, the warmest months are June to September, when temperatures regularly top thirty degrees. The rooms are furnished in a simpler, purely practical style without much luxury, but for a comfortable night’s sleep that’s plenty. Especially since the kids will spend all day splashing about in the water with the entertainers anyway, and only come back to the room to collapse into bed.

It sits on a gentle hill above the ocean and offers breathtaking panoramic views over the entire surf bay. Unlike bustling central Agadir, here you’re met with incredible calm and fresh sea air.
The hotel is architecturally very clean, timelessly modern, and radiates pure, relaxed ease. Instead of loud entertainers and overcrowded buffets, you’ll find a beautiful spa, a top-equipped gym, and a first-class restaurant with excellent coffee. Although the hotel isn’t right on the beach, it doesn’t matter at all, because a reliable hotel shuttle bus whisks you down to the ocean quickly and free of charge throughout the day.

The Taghazout area also has an amazing surf atmosphere with small cafés and shops that you simply won’t get in big, modern Agadir.

We stay in the popular surf area near Taghazout with this absolutely magical resort, which rightly boasts a very solid rating of 4.2 stars. As the name clearly suggests, the whole concept revolves around harmony, yoga, surfing, and relaxing wellness treatments, which together create an incredibly laid-back and friendly atmosphere. You’ll forget your stress the moment you arrive.
The resort lies right on a beautiful sandy beach and strives to run in maximum harmony with nature. You can start your day with morning yoga in a special pavilion overlooking the waves, spend the day catching the ocean swell at the on-site surf school, and enjoy the evening gathered around a crackling beach fire under the stars. The chefs also conjure up fantastic healthy meals with a huge selection for vegetarians.
💡 Tip: Choose this place if you’re after a bohemian holiday full of active relaxation, healthy food, and want to completely switch off from everyday stress. The grounds are far enough from the busy city, so definitely don’t come here if you’re craving wild nightlife and big shopping centres. Here, calm and the song of the ocean reign supreme.
10. Hotel Agadir Beach Club
We’re slowly moving into the category of cheaper accommodation, where you need to keep your wits about you when choosing. This once-famous, large club hotel now has a rating of only 3.7 stars, which already clearly hints at certain quality compromises. Its main, undeniable advantage, however, is its absolutely great location right on the beach, which even far pricier and more luxurious resorts might quietly envy.
On the other hand, you simply have to expect that the buildings have seen much better days and would badly need a full renovation. The rooms feel quite worn, the bathroom fittings are older, and, according to guest reviews, the all-inclusive food repeats fairly often and certainly won’t wow you with top-notch quality. The grounds are well maintained, but you can’t hide the ravages of time.
💡 Tip: Only stay here if you have a very tight budget, absolutely insist on a beachfront location, and can turn a blind eye with a smile to the older furnishings and poorer service. If you skip the all-inclusive, it pays to come on a bed-and-breakfast basis and go out for lunch or dinner to the excellent local restaurants along the promenade.
11. Hotel Argana
We close our detailed list with accommodation that, at a rating of just 3.6 stars, is among the very lowest-rated in our whole selection. It does sit in a fairly good strategic spot not far from the main beach promenade and offers what looks at first glance like a rather pleasant central pool, but the low price here is harshly paid for with major shortcomings in quality.
The rooms are very basic, often worn, and the housekeeping isn’t always quite up to scratch. In their reviews, guests very often mention poor soundproofing between rooms and rather average food quality that quickly gets old. If you do end up coming here, it’s definitely worth choosing a bed-and-breakfast stay at most and heading out for lunch or dinner somewhere, where you’ll get a far better vegetable couscous.
💡 Tip: This hotel is really only worth considering as the absolute cheapest option for completely undemanding travellers who use the room purely for a quick night’s sleep and spend most of their time out on trips anyway. How to choose the right hotel
When making the final choice of where to stay in Agadir, you need to ask yourself one absolutely crucial question: How much do I want to travel around and explore the country? This resort town is heavily geared towards classic all-inclusive packages, which is absolutely great for a carefree break, but if you’ve got itchy feet, it can paradoxically tie you down and limit your freedom.
If you plan to visit the beautiful oases of Paradise Valley, take a full-day trip into the Atlas Mountains, or wander the alleys of the huge Souk El Had market, paying extra for full board makes no sense at all. You’ll miss most of your lunches, and it would be a huge shame not to taste the fantastic local food right in the city. I’d recommend trying a traditional vegetable tagine or fragrant couscous with herbs at local restaurants, where you’ll eat cheaply and incredibly well. In that case, go instead for a smaller hotel in the centre on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
Families with younger children, on the other hand, will clearly appreciate the big resorts with water slides and full board, where they don’t have to sort anything out and have all the comfort neatly under one roof. And if surfing is your main motivation, don’t make the beginner’s mistake of staying in central Agadir. Commuting up north to catch the waves will swallow a needless hour of precious time every day, so it’s better to book accommodation right in the Taghazout Bay surf area from the start.
