November: 10 Best Places for Your Holiday

Are you tired of the chilly weather in the Czech Republic and would you like to go somewhere by the sea or at least on a sightseeing trip to the warmth? We’ve rounded up our favourite destinations in November, you’ll find out where to go on a seaside holiday in November and where to go for adventure.

How to choose the best seaside holiday destination in November

Here are some of our tips for thinking about your holiday choice:

  • How much time do I have for vacation: If you can get away for even 2 weeks, you can look at more distant destinations where it doesn’t make sense to fly if you have less than 10 days. ☺️
  • What’s my budget: the biggest part of my budget will be airfare and accommodation, the further you fly, the more of it will be spent on airfare. But you can also decide by cheap flights and you might catch a more exotic destination at a great price.
  • What I want to do on vacation: If all you want to do is fly to a rolling seaside vacation, there’s no point in flying halfway around the world to Hawaii. On the other hand, if you want a more active holiday, you’ll probably want to avoid the United Arab Emirates, where there’s not as much to see.
  • What kind of accommodation suits me best: do you need all inclusive? Then you will probably be tempted by Egypt or Turkey. Do you want to be close to the shoppers? Choose a hotel in Dubai. Do you want something more romantic or a bit bohemian? It offers Mexico in all price categories.

We lived in Mexico for five months and Luke absolutely loved the Mayan culture I fell in love with the beautiful nature, the white beaches, the freshwater swimming spots called cenotes and especially the local culture. The most luxurious accommodation can be found in Tulum, but we liked Holbox the best, where there was no signal and then Bacalar.

Thailand – Koh Samui

A couple of years ago, we flew out for the whole month of November Koh Samui and it was an absolutely amazing decision. In November, there are a minimum of tourists on Koh Samui, because this period is the month of transition in Thailand, when the island begins to enter its monsoon season.

A couple sitting on a hill overlooking Koh Nang Yuan.
The most beautiful of all Thailand

Although this can mean a higher chance of rain showers, they are usually short and heavy, quickly followed by sunny weather. 😁

Air temperatures range between 25°C and 31°C, while the sea temperature is a pleasant 28°C. The nature on Koh Samui is beautiful and lush and is ideal for trekking trips inland to discover waterfalls such as Na Muang or for hikes to Koh Nang Yuan or Koh Tao.

Tips for accommodation on Koh Samui

For example, try Sasitara Thai Villas just off Choeng Mon Beach, these villas are styled in the Thai Ayudhya architectural style, built from authentic Thai teak wood. The best position is probably The Spot , a 3.5 star golf hotel that is by the most beautiful beaches on the island – Chaweng and Lamai or Amaya Resort which is just an 18-minute walk from Lamai Beach.

If you want to save money, we recommend Aforetime Beach House. This is a 63 year old original Thai wooden house by the sea on Taling Ngam beach.

Tips and Tricks for Your Vacation

Don’t Overpay for Flights

Search for flights on Kayak. It’s our favorite search engine because it scans the websites of all airlines and always finds the cheapest connection.

Book Your Accommodation Smartly

The best experiences we’ve had when looking for accommodation (from Alaska to Morocco) are with Booking.com, where hotels, apartments, and entire houses are usually the cheapest and most widely available.

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance

Good travel insurance will protect you against illness, accidents, theft, or flight cancellations. We’ve had a few hospital visits abroad, so we know how important it is to have proper insurance arranged.

Where we insure ourselves: SafetyWing (best for everyone) and TrueTraveller (for extra-long trips).

Why don’t we recommend any Czech insurance company? Because they have too many restrictions. They set limits on the number of days abroad, travel insurance via a credit card often requires you to pay medical expenses only with that card, and they frequently limit the number of returns to the Czech Republic.

Find the Best Experiences

Get Your Guide is a huge online marketplace where you can book guided walks, trips, skip-the-line tickets, tours, and much more. We always find some extra fun there!
