Cheap hotels in Prague: What does cheap accommodation in the metropolis mean?

Gone are the days when it was easy to sleep in a hostel in the city centre for 200 CZK a night. I was still in high school. Nowadays I consider cheap accommodation in Prague to be anything under 2000 CZK per night, and for hostels it is 500 CZK per night.

In this article you will find not only cheap but also well rated and quality hotels and hostels, because honestly you don’t want to come to Prague for a few days and not sleep at all, or at least we don’t. 😁

In this list I will focus on cheap hotels in Prague that offer not only a pleasant environment, but also a great location. We believe that whether you are looking for a cheap Prague hotel in the city centre or Prague bed and breakfast accommodation in a quieter part of the city away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you will find a choice.

The hotel’s location, about a 30-minute walk from the Old Town, makes it ideal for exploring the city, although the walk back can be a little more challenging as it’s uphill.

Hotel U Divadla – Cheap Hotels in Prague 4

Our stay at Hotel U Divadla was a great experience for my husband and I and is definitely one of the best and cheapest accommodation in Prague. Although the rooms are not exactly to our taste, they are spacious, comfortable and quite clean. The only small imperfection was the dust on the top shelves in the cabinet, but that’s a small thing. What we can always appreciate is the excellent breakfast and here you have a really great choice.

The hotel also offers secure parking, which is a big plus in Prague. The location of the hotel is great, the centre is easy and quick to get to and the Hotel u Divadla is located in a quiet part of town, so it is relatively quiet at night.

Tips and Tricks for Your Vacation

Don’t Overpay for Flights

Search for flights on Kayak. It’s our favorite search engine because it scans the websites of all airlines and always finds the cheapest connection.

Book Your Accommodation Smartly

The best experiences we’ve had when looking for accommodation (from Alaska to Morocco) are with Booking.com, where hotels, apartments, and entire houses are usually the cheapest and most widely available.

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance

Good travel insurance will protect you against illness, accidents, theft, or flight cancellations. We’ve had a few hospital visits abroad, so we know how important it is to have proper insurance arranged.

Where we insure ourselves: SafetyWing (best for everyone) and TrueTraveller (for extra-long trips).

Why don’t we recommend any Czech insurance company? Because they have too many restrictions. They set limits on the number of days abroad, travel insurance via a credit card often requires you to pay medical expenses only with that card, and they frequently limit the number of returns to the Czech Republic.

Find the Best Experiences

Get Your Guide is a huge online marketplace where you can book guided walks, trips, skip-the-line tickets, tours, and much more. We always find some extra fun there!
