10 Best Hipster Cafes in Prague (+ Brunch Tip)

Best cafes in Prague

Looking for the best cafes in Prague – whether it’s a hipster coffee shop or an Instagram-worthy gem with outstanding coffee? You’ve come to the right place. Since we had to base ourselves in Prague for 9 months, I decided to make the most of it and explore the city’s café scene. Here are the first 10 unique cafes in Prague that are absolutely worth a visit.

1) Best Breakfast at Coffee Room

Hipster cafes in Prague – Coffee RoomEver since I first shared Coffee Room on Facebook, quite some time has passed – and since then, we’ve brought practically every visitor of ours here. Why? One reason is that they serve Saturday breakfast until 2 PM, so there’s no need to rush. And also because we absolutely love their avocado toast.

2) The Most Popular Hipster Café is Cafefin

Hipster cafe Cafefin Prague

A Vietnamese café that is probably the most popular among Prague locals – especially bloggers and Instagrammers. If you head here, there’s a good chance you’ll have to queue for a table. It can also get quite noisy at times. But the food is excellent, and there are always fresh flowers on the tables.

3) Vietnamese Café in Holešovice – Ca Phé

Best cafe in Prague

Lovers of Vietnamese Pho soup – pay attention. At this café, you can even have it for breakfast. We ordered an iced coffee with soy milk, a Pho, and sweet rice with fruit. Lukáš claimed it was the best Pho he’d had in ages, and I was blown away by the coffee. I desperately need this variety at home.

4) In Karlín You’ll Find Parlor Café

Parlor Café Prague

When I first went there, they had such a good-looking waiter that even Lukáš nearly blushed. 😄 Okay, that was a quick detour from coffee and cafés. This place is even more beautiful in person than in photos – flowers everywhere and the whole space just radiates calm. An ideal café for long chats with friends or a romantic date.

5) SIGNATURE Café at Vnitroblock

Vnitroblock cafe Prague

Vnitroblock in Holešovice is a fantastic spot for coffee, food, or a work meeting. If you’ve ever spent time in North America, you’ll feel right at home here. Besides food and coffee, you can also pick up some smaller designer items.

6) Retro Café on Anenská Street – TRICAFE

Retro cafe in Prague

The charming retro café TRICAFE is located just steps from Charles Bridge on Anenská Street. I can’t believe I only discovered it recently – it’s just around the corner from my school, and they brew excellent coffee and serve amazing quiche! Plus, it’s one of the few famous cafes in Prague that tourists haven’t found yet, so you can easily grab a seat.

7) Romantic Cathedral Café

Romantic cafe in Prague

A hidden gem in the heart of Prague that remains a secret from tourists. You can enjoy fantastic pancakes or our favourite coffee by Double Shot. A place where even in winter, it feels like you’re sitting in a garden. If you’re looking for the best cafe in Prague Old Town, this one is a strong contender.

8) Cryptocurrency Café – Paralelní Polis

Cafe with the fastest internet in Prague

If you’re looking for a quiet place to work, try Paralelní Polis. Besides excellent coffee, they have what is probably the fastest internet in all of Prague. The catch? You have to pay with cryptocurrency – but you can buy it on the spot, and it takes about 30 seconds. Definitely one of the most unique cafes in Prague.

9) Floral Restaurant with Great Coffee – Spižírna 1902

Best restaurant Prague 3

Okay, this one is more of a restaurant than a café, but that doesn’t mean they don’t make amazing coffee – quite the opposite, in fact. It’s a favourite for its stunning floral wallpaper, delicious bundt cake, and bagels.

10) Experience Authentic Žižkov at Žižkavárna

Cafe in Žižkov Prague

A small café with its own unique charm and an incredible walnut cake. Here you’ll get a real taste of the Žižkov neighbourhood and meet locals. You can sit outside and watch the Žižkov hustle and bustle, or tuck yourself inside with a book and a coffee – nobody will disturb you. No need to worry about tourist crowds here.

BONUS – Tip for Excellent Coffee

Our never-ending hunt for good coffee paused for a while when we got Alza Café whole bean coffee for home. It sounds crazy – we’re not exactly fans of that green mascot either – but this coffee is simply outstanding. 100% Arabica from South and Central America, 1 kg for about €12. Highly recommended! 🙂

Tips and Tricks for Your Vacation

Don’t Overpay for Flights

Search for flights on Kayak. It’s our favorite search engine because it scans the websites of all airlines and always finds the cheapest connection.

Book Your Accommodation Smartly

The best experiences we’ve had when looking for accommodation (from Alaska to Morocco) are with Booking.com, where hotels, apartments, and entire houses are usually the cheapest and most widely available.

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance

Good travel insurance will protect you against illness, accidents, theft, or flight cancellations. We’ve had a few hospital visits abroad, so we know how important it is to have proper insurance arranged.

Where we insure ourselves: SafetyWing (best for everyone) and TrueTraveller (for extra-long trips).

Why don’t we recommend any Czech insurance company? Because they have too many restrictions. They set limits on the number of days abroad, travel insurance via a credit card often requires you to pay medical expenses only with that card, and they frequently limit the number of returns to the Czech Republic.

Find the Best Experiences

Get Your Guide is a huge online marketplace where you can book guided walks, trips, skip-the-line tickets, tours, and much more. We always find some extra fun there!
