Last time we went was in June and the heat absolutely wiped us out.<strong> That&#8217;s why I&#8217;d recommend visiting in autumn, when temperatures are much more comfortable and there are fewer tourists. <\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/rim-lucka.jpg\" alt=\"Rome \u2013 October vacation\" class=\"wp-image-73835\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">It was extremely hot in Rome in June \u2013 go in autumn instead. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want to queue for hours at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/vatikan\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/vatikan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vatican<\/a><\/strong>, check out the tips <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/rome-italy\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"57890\">in our Rome article<\/a><\/strong>. Most importantly, stay in the centre \u2013 look for accommodation near the main train station (where the airport train stops) or near one of the airport bus stops.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Try checking availability at <a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/residenza-cavallini\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Residenza Cavallini<\/a>, which is a five-minute walk from the airport bus express stop, close to the Vatican and the Trevi Fountain. <\/strong>We loved this small hotel \u2013 although the room was quite compact, it was clean and breakfast at a nearby caf\u00e9 (croissant, toast, and cappuccino) was included in the price.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Long_weekend_in_Budapest\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Long_weekend_in_Budapest\"><\/span>Long weekend in Budapest<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/budapest-hungary\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"53695\">Budapest<\/a><\/strong> is gorgeous all year round, but we prefer going in late September or October to avoid the brutal summer heat.<strong> We visit Budapest every year because no other European city has quite the same incredible atmosphere.<\/strong> Beyond the stunning landmarks, it&#8217;s a city brimming with amazing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/cafes-budapest\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"53171\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">caf\u00e9s<\/a><\/strong>, bistros, restaurants, and vintage shops. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Rybarska_basta-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"View from Fisherman&#039;s Bastion\" class=\"wp-image-53700\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Rybarska_basta-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Rybarska_basta-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Rybarska_basta-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Rybarska_basta.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">View from Fisherman&#8217;s Bastion<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Stay right in the centre. The cheapest option is <a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/flow-hostel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Flow Hostel<\/a>, where we used to stay when we were watching every penny.  <\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re after something more upmarket,&nbsp;<strong>we&#8217;d recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/hotel-vision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Hotel Vision<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;where we stayed a couple of years ago \u2013 great breakfasts, perfect location, and beautiful rooms. Absolutely stunning but pricier is the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/aria-hotel-budapest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Aria Hotel Budapest by Library Hotel Collection<\/a><\/strong>. For a nice middle ground, try&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/eurostars-danube-budapest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Eurostars Danube Budapest<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/novotel-budapest-danube\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Novotel Budapest Danube<\/a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/milford-suites-budapest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Milford Suites Budapest<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Paris\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Paris\"><\/span>Paris<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Do we even need to sell you on Paris? <strong>Paris is the city of love, rich history, museums, art, and incredible food<\/strong>. October may be a quieter month, but at the most popular landmarks you might not notice the difference. \ud83d\ude01<\/p>\n<p>Our family didn&#8217;t listen to us, didn&#8217;t buy <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/things-see-barcelona-spain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tickets to Sagrada Fam\u00edlia<\/a><\/strong> in advance as we&#8217;d advised \u2013 and couldn&#8217;t get in. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/barcelona-hotel-gaudi.jpg\" alt=\"Barcelona is great in October too\" class=\"wp-image-72179\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Barcelona (booking)\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/barcelona-booking\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Barcelona<\/a> is great in October too<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Make sure to stay in the centre \u2013 you can walk to most places easily.
