From Florence to Siena<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leave Florence early in the morning for Siena.<\/strong>  In Siena, you must visit the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo with its fountain by the famous artist Jacopo della Quercia. Going to the heart of the Tuscan countryside in Val d&#8217;Orcia<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From Siena, take the SR2 road towards San Quirico d&#8217;Orcia. From here continue on SR146 in the direction of Montepulciano. It is one of the most beautiful roads in Tuscany, <strong>you will probably stop very often, because this is where you take those classic views of the Tuscan countryside that you see in magazines and on postcards<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit the small Tuscan towns of Pienza, Montepulciano, San Quirico d&#8217;Orcia, Monticchiello, Montalcino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I recommend staying in Montalcino, as it will only take you an hour and twenty minutes to get to Saturnia, where you definitely want to arrive on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\">\ud83c\udfe0 Where to stay: If you want the real experience, you can stay at the <strong>luxurious <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Castel Brunello\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/doporucujeme\/castel-brunello\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Castel Brunello<\/a><\/strong> or the slightly cheaper but still quite expensive <strong><a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Podere Brizio\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/doporucujeme\/podere-brizio\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Podere Brizio<\/a>. <\/strong>For more affordable accommodation, we recommend the <strong><a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Cordella in Montalcino Wine Resort\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/doporucujeme\/cordella-in-montalcino-wine-resort\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Cordella in Montalcino Wine Resort<\/a> <\/strong>and<strong> <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Agriturismo Collodi\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/doporucujeme\/agriturismo-collodi\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Agriturismo Collodi<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_4_Spa_town_of_Saturnia_can_be_skipped\"><\/span>Day 4. Spa town of Saturnia (can be skipped)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I recommend arriving very early in the morning<\/strong>, otherwise you will have a huge amount of tourists. Saturnia will enchant you at first sight with its turquoise water flowing in cascades just below the town in the valley. San Gimignano and Volterra<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These two beautiful Tuscan towns are quite close to each other and can therefore be visited in one day. If you have more time, you can also go to Certalda, where Giovanni Boccaccio lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/San\u2013Gimignano-3.jpg\" alt=\"San Gimignano\" class=\"wp-image-58655\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">San Gimignano in Italy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>San Gimignano is famous for its 14 medieval towers and beautiful historic centre.  <\/strong>I recommend to go here first, especially because it is usually quite crowded after lunch in the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who hasn&#8217;t heard of the Etruscan city of Volterra!  <\/strong>  Volterra, or Velathri in Etruscan, is an extremely well-preserved ancient and medieval historical city, also called the city of alabaster. It can be found on a rocky plateau between the valleys and is surrounded by double walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\">\ud83c\udfe0 <strong>Where to stay in Volterra: <\/strong>I would definitely go to the extremely well rated and especially cheap accommodation <strong><a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Fontesettimena\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/doporucujeme\/fontesettimena\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Fontesettimena<\/a><\/strong>, which is outside the centre. Or I would stay right in the centre of Volterra at <strong><a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Albergo Etruria\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/doporucujeme\/albergo-etruria\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Albergo Etruria<\/a>. <\/strong>For us fans of typical Tuscan houses, there&#8217;s also the slightly more expensive <strong><a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Appartamenti Villa Mascagni\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/doporucujeme\/appartamenti-villa-mascagni\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\">Appartamenti Villa Mascagni<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_6_Across_the_beaches_to_the_Leaning_Tower_of_Pisa\"><\/span>Day 6. Across the beaches to the Leaning Tower of Pisa<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although beaches don&#8217;t usually feature in photos of Tuscany, Tuscany has quite a few. Head to <strong>Spiagge bianche<\/strong> beach first thing in the morning and then drive along the coast to <strong>Livorno<\/strong>. Livorno is a fairly industrial port town, well worth a short visit if you have enough time. If you&#8217;re in a hurry, head straight to Pisa.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loudavymkrokem.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Pisa-sikma-vez-2.jpg\" alt=\"Leaning Tower of Pisa\" class=\"wp-image-58656\" title=\"\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Leaning Tower of Pisa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Leaning Tower of Pisa, you will see a true tourist spectacle. People will be leaning from one side to the other, trying to push the tower away in photos or snapping pictures. You might want to take a funny photo yourself.
