Driving to the Alps for a winter holiday<\/strong> can be an unforgettable experience, but also a serious test of your nerves behind the wheel. While in summer you simply throw your bags in the boot and head to the coast, mountain weather is unforgiving even when it comes to the smallest mistakes in preparation. A single unexpected snowstorm on an Alpine pass and without the right equipment, your dream trip can turn into several hours waiting for a tow truck. Austrian police are also absolutely uncompromising during winter checks<\/strong>, and counting on getting through with summer tyres can become extremely expensive. That’s why I’ve written down everything you definitely shouldn’t underestimate before departure \u2014 from tyres to reflective vests to the rescue corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
