When I was figuring out where to stay in Las Vegas in September 2012, on my second road trip to Sin City, I had just turned 20<\/strong>. In Nevada, that meant one thing: I wasn\u2019t allowed to gamble in a casino<\/strong> or even have a drop of alcohol, since the age limit is 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naively, I bought a beautiful dress and high heels<\/strong>, hoping the bouncers would let me in just to look around. My friends and I used to meet at the iconic Bellagio<\/strong>, and I was completely blown away by its size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On my very first morning, though, I got stuck in the elevator<\/strong>. Without a valid room key, you simply can\u2019t go anywhere. The experience confirmed my claustrophobia, but more importantly, it taught me that this city plays by an entirely different set of rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
