Golden Sands, Bulgaria is quite different from most beach resorts, and it helps to know exactly what you’re getting into before you go. While the neighbouring resorts sit on completely flat ground, here the hotels climb up a steep, forested hillside<\/strong> inside a protected nature park. That brings gorgeous views, fresh air and shade from mature trees \u2014 but it also means you may face a proper trek from the beach back to your room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hilly terrain is really the main thing that decides whether you’ll love it here. If you enjoy nature walks and welcome the fact that the resort blends seamlessly into the forest, you’ll be thrilled. But if you’re travelling with a pushchair or find walking difficult<\/strong>, the steps and climbs here can be quite a challenge. In that case it’s wise to pick a hotel right by the beach, or consider the flatter alternatives further south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
