The library ranks as the number one attraction in Dublin on TripAdvisor. And it truly is beautiful. <strong>But be warned \u2014 don&#8217;t expect to spend hours there for your \u20ac11\u201314 entry fee.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can&#8217;t wander between the shelves, and everyone ends up taking the same photo as us. The Long Room is gorgeous, but I was secretly hoping we&#8217;d be strolling through aisles like Hermione and Harry Potter. The Temple Bar pub itself is one of Dublin&#8217;s most iconic landmarks \u2014 and that&#8217;s exactly where we headed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you&#8217;re planning more than just one pint, though, <strong>try heading a few blocks away. There&#8217;s a beloved Dublin legend about writers George Moore and Oliver St. John Gogarty, who were neighbours on Ely Place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Gogarty supposedly kept coming home drunk and banging on Moore&#8217;s door by mistake.<\/strong> So Moore painted his door green to help his neighbour tell the houses apart. Gogarty then painted his own red. And from there, a tradition was born. Hire a bike and cycle through the endless greenery \u2014 it&#8217;s one of the largest enclosed parks in any European capital. It&#8217;s a 10-minute walk from the city centre, the airport bus stops right outside, and the Hop On \u2013 Hop Off buses stop just around the corner. We popped into the nearby Lidl for dinner each evening and were perfectly happy. If you&#8217;re a fan of a proper breakfast and a hotel gym, it&#8217;s a solid choice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Accommodation in Dublin is generally expensive, and you may well find a better deal if you look around.
