I was inspired by Franti\u0161ek Szab\u00f3, who has been publishing his annual reviews since 2011.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2020 was a wildly turbulent year, and the paths that led to achieving my goals were ones I couldn&#8217;t have imagined back in December 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_83 ez-toc-wrap-left counter-hierarchy ez-toc-counter ez-toc-grey id=\"Buy_a_plot_of_land\"><\/span><strong>Buy a plot of land<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It turned out that changing the zoning plan near our target area wasn&#8217;t straightforward, so we had to come up with an alternative solution. Instead of the plot we&#8217;re still fighting for, we bought a flat in P\u00edsek (a charming town in South Bohemia). In a few months, we&#8217;ll be moving in and finally achieving our long-term goal of <strong>leaving Prague behind<\/strong>. We were already spending about 4 days a week in P\u00edsek anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Growing_the_investment_portfolio\"><\/span><strong>Growing the investment portfolio<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>About a year and a half earlier, I started slowly preparing to secure our future family&#8217;s finances and our retirement. The first half of 2020 turned out to be a fantastic opportunity to increase some positions and pick up new stocks. I won&#8217;t tell you how much I invested, but I will share what I bought:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>On Patria<\/strong>: Erste, Moneta<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>On <a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/revolut-review\/\">Revolut<\/a><\/strong>: AbbVie, Apple, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Virgin Galactic, Activision Blizzard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>On Degiro<\/strong>: AbbVie, Apple<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although I reduced my P2P lending exposure, I still found room for new investments on <a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/?p=56975\"><strong>Mintos<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 particularly in Kazakhstan, where I&#8217;ve been consistently achieving returns of around 17% per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also invested in real estate through <a class=\"thirstylink\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"upvest\" href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/doporucujeme\/upvest\/\" data-shortcode=\"true\"><strong>Upvest<\/strong><\/a> and tried out the Czech platform <a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/?p=56729\"><strong>Bondster<\/strong><\/a>. On top of that, I set up an investment strategy on Portu, where I send a fixed amount every month. So overall, growing the investment portfolio \u2014 mission accomplished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Implement_financial_planning_and_family_expense_analysis\"><\/span><strong>Implement financial planning and family expense analysis<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by Czech entrepreneurs V\u00ed\u0165a V\u00e1lky, Daniel Gamrot, and Robert Vlach, I created detailed spreadsheets to track our family spending, investments, and cash flow management. What I didn&#8217;t anticipate was that the pandemic would overnight turn nanoSPACE into a company with annual revenue well over \u20ac4 million \u2014 and that I&#8217;d have to put my SEO specialisation on hold (or rather, stop taking on new clients).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The demand for nano face masks and nano respirators caught us completely off guard at the start of the year, and we had to dive headfirst into scaling the business. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/crisis-management-ecommerce-case-study\/\">read here about how we automated the entire e-shop<\/a>, and from there it was a proper rollercoaster ride (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nanospace.cz\/napsali-o-nas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here&#8217;s some of our media coverage<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, both Lucka and I work full-time at nanoSPACE, and thanks to the capital we&#8217;ve gained, we can finally push the promotion of our anti-allergy nano bedding \u2014 a product that truly deserves the spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Growing_our_own_projects\"><\/span><strong>Growing our own projects<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/\">Loudavymkrokem.cz<\/a> fell behind due to the pandemic, and hitting our target of 45,000 monthly visits with travel content alone seemed unrealistic. So I made a bold move: I migrated all the marketing, finance, and personal development content from our other site, powerofdoing.blog (which is now focused exclusively on cryptocurrency).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside travel, I added these content verticals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/how-to-start-blog\/\">How to blog<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/seberozvoj\/\">Personal development<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/marketing\/\">Marketing<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/finance\/\">Finance<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/jak-zacit-investovat\/\">Investing<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Affiliate income from these topics fully replaced the travel revenue, and once travel bounces back, I&#8217;ll be grateful we diversified. Loudav\u00fdm krokem is no longer just a travel blog \u2014 it&#8217;s evolved into a broader platform about online business and personal finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Establish_myself_publicly_as_an_SEO_specialist\"><\/span><strong>Establish myself publicly as an SEO specialist<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although I&#8217;ve been developing SEO strategies for several clients over the years, very few people knew about it. Before the pandemic, my plan was to go all-in on SEO \u2014 investing all my energy into further learning and growing both my own sites and clients&#8217; sites to build a visible track record. Unfortunately, nanoSPACE&#8217;s explosive growth forced me to put that on hold. I only got as far as registering on <a href=\"https:\/\/navolnenoze.cz\/prezentace\/lukas-konecny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>navolnenoze.cz<\/strong><\/a> (a Czech freelancer platform), because I already had more work than I could handle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Plans_for_2021\"><\/span><span id=\"Plans_for_2021\" class=\"ez-toc-section\">Plans for 2021<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Investments\"><\/span><strong>Investments<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, I plan to do a deep dive into the emerging field of longevity (the fight against ageing) and, if possible, make my first investments \u2014 ideally at the pre-seed stage. I&#8217;ll most likely go through one of the dedicated longevity funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Strategic_growth_of_nanoSPACE\"><\/span><strong>Strategic growth of nanoSPACE<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Towards the end of 2020, we started exploring international trade at nanoSPACE, and it&#8217;s showing real potential. That&#8217;s where we&#8217;ll be channelling our energy, and I&#8217;ve set a specific revenue target for 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re still working on finalising our cash flow management processes and professional investment and cost planning. It&#8217;s a big topic that takes up a lot of my time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re also planning a return to our bedding range, which took a back seat during the pandemic while we focused on protective equipment sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve also set an annual revenue target for the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>One personal wish of mine:<\/strong> to get Lucka on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. She managed nanoSPACE phenomenally during a turbulent year. She still has a year and 9 months to qualify. \ud83d\ude09<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Growing_our_own_projects-2\"><\/span><strong>Growing our own projects<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/loudavymkrokem.cz\/en\/\">Loudavymkrokem.cz<\/a> \u2013 get back to publishing 2 articles per month, regardless of the topic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/powerofdoing.blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Powerofdoing.blog<\/a> \u2013 a major update of the cryptocurrency course (complete rewrite + a new module on DeFi tokens)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secret online project \u2013 Lucka and I are planning to launch an online project with serious passive income potential. Since it&#8217;s still under wraps, I can&#8217;t say more \u2014 you&#8217;ll just have to wait until we go live. \ud83d\ude0a<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Personal_goals\"><\/span><strong>Personal goals<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Finish the flat and become proper South Bohemians.<\/strong> \ud83d\ude0a We&#8217;ll complete the move from Prague to our new flat in P\u00edsek and leave the big city behind. We&#8217;re planning to start a family, so having our own place is key. But first, we need to sort out:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bathroom, floors, walls, doors, kitchen, and bedroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do more of what I love.<\/strong> That means: morning yoga with incense burning, morning meditation, drinking quality teas, deep-focus computer work with headphones on, walks with the dog, and gaming together (shouldn&#8217;t be a problem \u2014 we bought WoW and an Oculus Quest \ud83d\ude02).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get a thorough health check-up<\/strong> and adjust my habits so we&#8217;re still around at 120. This includes: genome sequencing, microbiome analysis, and regular monitoring of key biomarkers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Read the books on my list.<\/strong> I typically read about 30 books a year, but there are a few must-reads for 2021:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Getting to Yes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pre-Suasion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To Sell Is Human<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Intelligent Investor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Money Thinks Small<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Man&#8217;s Search for Meaning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>I&#8217;ve also made a resolution to live to 120.
