More than 200 steps lead up to the church, but the climb is absolutely worth it!<\/p>\n<p>The pilgrimage tradition of this site dates back to the 17th century. <strong>Between 1722 and 1729, an imposing Baroque church with two towers was built here, and it remains a popular pilgrimage destination to this day.<\/strong> The surroundings of the church feature a Way of the Cross consisting of 13 small Empire-style chapels from the early 19th century. The first mention of the castle dates to 1253. It is a Gothic-style fortress with a massive cylindrical defensive tower \u2013 the largest of its kind in Czech Silesia.<\/p>\n<p>According to legend, a treasure belonging to a robber knight is hidden beneath the castle ruins, but it can only be claimed by someone who spends three nights at the castle and faces the monsters that dwell there. On the building&#8217;s gable, you can admire life-size statues of medieval marksmen.
