Caravan living is a magical experience.<\/strong> Once you sit behind the wheel and hit the road, something shifts in your mind. Forever. Or at least that’s how it was for us. We own our own motorhome and drove 12,000 km in the first year alone. But the journey to buying our own vehicle took years. In the end, we made a fairly impulsive decision and we’re happy with our choice, but I know plenty of travellers who had to heavily modify their vehicles \u2014 or swap them out entirely.<\/p>\n

There are hundreds of configurations out there, and a lot depends on your travel style, family size, how much stuff you want to bring, what level of comfort you expect on the road\u2026 Some people are happy with a basic camper van for \u20ac2,000 with no running water, while others need a 7.5-metre motorhome with air conditioning, a solar system and satellite internet (that’s us).<\/p>\n
