TL;DR<\/strong>Olh\u00e3o is an authentic fishing town in Portugal’s Algarve. Beyond its old town with cubist architecture, it offers 18 concrete things to see and do, including the Os Mercados market halls, the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Ros\u00e1rio church and boat trips into the Ria Formosa<\/strong> nature park. From there you can hop by water taxi or ferry to the islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol<\/strong> with their peaceful beaches. One day is enough to explore the centre itself; plan two or three nights if you want to add the islands. The best months to visit are September and October<\/strong>, thanks to the warm sea (around 21 \u00b0C) and lower prices \u2014 though we also recommend the quieter months of November and February, with temperatures of around 16\u201326 \u00b0C. Our recommended place to stay is the Pure Formosa Concept Hotel with its rooftop terrace.<\/div>\n\n\n\n
