in February, and I must say it was a great choice. <\/strong>Most days were sunny, and temperatures hovered around <strong>a pleasant 15-17 degrees<\/strong>. However, high temperatures and crowds of tourists can be exhausting <strong>. Without prior reservations, you won&#8217;t get anywhere during this time \u2013 everything from restaurants to accommodation tends to be fully booked.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Spring_and_Autumn_in_Avignon\"><\/span>Spring and Autumn in Avignon<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p>March to May and September to October are ideal for a visit. <strong>Temperatures are pleasant, there are fewer tourists, and the city lives at its natural pace.<\/strong> In autumn, you can also head to the surrounding vineyards for the grape harvest. Just be aware that the <strong>local Mistral wind can be quite strong<\/strong>, so pack something warmer. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Winter_in_Avignon\"><\/span>Winter in Avignon<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p>P<strong>sights are free of tourist crowds, accommodation prices are more favorable, and a pleasantly peaceful atmosphere prevails in the city.<\/strong> Although it can sometimes be cloudy, it&#8217;s usually sunny, and these temperatures are actually ideal for sightseeing. However, its four preserved arches offer some of the most beautiful views of the city. From Barthelasse Island at sunset, you&#8217;ll understand why it has become a symbol of Provence. S<strong>he building itself is an architectural gem and shines with new splendor after a recent renovation. <\/strong>Even if you don&#8217;t have tickets for a performance, stop by at least to admire the opulent facade on Place de l&#8217;Horloge. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_Trips_from_Avignon\"><\/span>Day Trips from Avignon<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>Avignon is an excellent starting point for exploring all of Provence.
