Are you planning a family trip to Prague and looking for ideal accommodation with small children? Choosing the right accommodation with children can sometimes be a bigger challenge than convincing others that you can handle a Prague sightseeing tour with a toddler. In this guide — Prague, Czech Republic: 10 Best Family Hotels for Your Stay with Children — I’ll point you to the top choices to make your family stay easier and more enjoyable.
Prague is an absolutely fantastic trip, even if you have a small toddler, but choosing the hotel/accommodation is absolutely crucial. Why? Because with children, you don’t want to travel miles to the center, and you also don’t want a miniature space where you won’t be able to move freely. That’s why I’ve prepared a list for you, where you’ll find the best family hotels in Prague.
How to Find the Best Family Hotels in Prague
Personally, I always go to booking.com, which has the largest selection, and you can easily find a family hotel there. Just enter “Prague” into the search engine, select your travel dates, and the number of little adventurers you’re traveling with.
After clicking “Search”, use the smart filters in the left menu – check “Prague city center” and “family-friendly accommodation”.
Don’t forget to read reviews from families who have already tried the hotel – they often reveal more than the official description.
Domus Balthasar – Boutique Hotel near Charles Bridge
Location: Right by Charles Bridge, Malá Strana
Every time I think of our stay at Domus Balthasar, I want to go back. There’s nothing more beautiful than waking up in the morning and looking out the windows at Charles Bridge. Everything is close by, the rooms are huge, where you can easily entertain a child, and most importantly, a quality bed with a mattress that you, as tired parents, will surely appreciate.
Paradoxically, we originally came here with our one-year-old son Jonáš and thought we were crazy – a luxury hotel right in the tourist center with a toddler? But it surprisingly works!
The rooms here are as big as a gym (okay, I’m exaggerating a bit, but compared to most Prague hotels, certainly), you don’t have to drag yourself anywhere, and around the corner, you have plenty of cafes with play areas where you can go to eat. Jonáš could play comfortably in the room while we enjoyed the view.
Pros:
- The rooms are really huge – our Jonáš had more space to play than at home in the living room
- An early bird in the family? Here it’s an advantage! At six in the morning, you’ll have Charles Bridge all to yourself
- We had coffee at The Spot cafe while Jonáš discovered new toys in the children’s corner
- No struggle with a stroller up the stairs – just leave it at the entrance and no one will steal it
- We took such photos from the windows that our friends didn’t believe us
Cons:
- The absence of an elevator can be an issue, but you can safely leave the stroller at the entrance if you don’t want to carry it up.
- For breakfast, you have to go to another building or a cafe (which I don’t know if it’s a minus)
- They don’t have parking – easily solved via Easypark.cz

Tips and Tricks for Your Vacation
Don’t Overpay for Flights
Search for flights on Kayak. It’s our favorite search engine because it scans the websites of all airlines and always finds the cheapest connection.
Book Your Accommodation Smartly
The best experiences we’ve had when looking for accommodation (from Alaska to Morocco) are with Booking.com, where hotels, apartments, and entire houses are usually the cheapest and most widely available.
Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
Good travel insurance will protect you against illness, accidents, theft, or flight cancellations. We’ve had a few hospital visits abroad, so we know how important it is to have proper insurance arranged.
Where we insure ourselves: SafetyWing (best for everyone) and TrueTraveller (for extra-long trips).
Why don’t we recommend any Czech insurance company? Because they have too many restrictions. They set limits on the number of days abroad, travel insurance via a credit card often requires you to pay medical expenses only with that card, and they frequently limit the number of returns to the Czech Republic.
Find the Best Experiences
Get Your Guide is a huge online marketplace where you can book guided walks, trips, skip-the-line tickets, tours, and much more. We always find some extra fun there!
